“Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get.”

Susan started as a temp at Augustine and was hired on permanently and promoted to the traffic department after just three months. She was soon immersed in many aspects of the business, including estimating projects for clients, overseeing work flow in the design department, placing ads for our clients, handling the day-to-day process questions and issues and learning so much along the way about what is incremental to the challenges that make Augustine so special. Her position ultimately expanded to incorporate the retail side of the agency, soon becoming a Retail Program Manager. After working on three retail programs Susan was moved into a new retail program department and tasked with creating and managing budgets for all of the retail programs. She now works dually in the retail program department and the production services department assisting with print projects and working with outside vendors. Susan studied Statistics and Mathematics at Virginia Tech and is now pursuing her studies for a Business/Accounting degree at American River College before heading for Sacramento State.

What You Might Not Know…
Born in Virginia, Susan was just ten-days old when she received her first passport. Her father was in the Air Force and so the entire family—including three older siblings and Susan—traveled throughout Europe, settling for a few years in a little German town outside of Stuttgart. The family moved back to the states when her father was transferred to the Pentagon. She spent most of her childhood living just outside Washington DC. Susan moved from DC to Atlanta before trekking cross country to settle in Sacramento. She has an amazing Weimeraner, Macy, who goes everywhere with her; she can solve the Rubix Cube in under five minutes; she can knit and sew; balances her checkbook without a calculator (just to have an excuse to do math!); once changed a radiator hose while wearing a skirt and high-heels; and (knock on wood!) has never broken a bone or been in the hospital.
