CREATIVE SERVICES

“You have to think like water. Picture water pouring through some kind of obstacle and it will carve itself a place, winding toward some destiny, some end.”

Gerald Viray has come a long way from designing snowboard clothing. His successful career as a Graphic Designer for some top companies throughout Sacramento began soon after he graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Bachelor of Arts in Art. Gerald was a Professor in the Department of Design at CSU for over six years while he simultaneously worked for various companies. After seven years, he left a senior position as Studio Manager/Art Director for a highly respected Sacramento design firm to become the Senior Designer for Augustine.

Gerald is one of the key designers at Augustine and his creative thumbprint is on many of our winning campaigns—creating everything from logos to every aspect of branding, retail, packaging, and more.

What You Might Not Know...
Gerald once lived an alternative rock `n roll style—long hair, skate-boarding and playing guitar. His most creative inspiration is his wife, Shelle—also an artist and designer—and the two do everything together, including snowboarding, riding dirt bikes and loving their dog, Marley. Gerald’s favorite bike is an old Schwinn low-rider that he built from scratch. He found the perfect scraps in a local salvage yard, put it together piece-by-piece and it’s a beauty. He loves to cruise around mid-town, and grab a drink with his friends. He also loves to cook, a talent he inherited from his mother—a reflection of his Philipino heritage and philosophy, “When you eat good you live good.” Gerald does admittedly have a twisted side, too. He believes there’s a midget clown in every basement or attic waiting to get him. For his last meal he would love to have fried chicken wings, white rice and red kool-aid. Go figure…
